SubscriberI am trying to simulate a ceiling fan in ansys fluent considering it as a solid disc.......I am using 3D fan zone model for that.Â
actually i have axial, theta, and radial components of momentum sources which i need to input.....
how can i do that.
also when using 3D fan zone model ....the parameter they ask to input is pressure drop......is there a way to input momentum sources rather than pressure drop.

you can directly enable tangential, radial and axial source terms in the 3D Fan Zone Dialog box 7.2. Cell Zone Conditions (ansys.com)
If enabling the Axial source term, you will need to additionally choose a method between Constant Pressure jump or read a Fan Curve (where the pressure rise/drop will be a function of the volumetric flow rate).

Thank you for your reply. Actually, i am trying to validate it from a paper........in the simulation they have done, only thing they have mentioned is the magnitude of axial, radial, and theta momentum sources.
pressure drop is not mentioned........so is there a way where I can input those magnitude rather than the pressure drop.

If using the 3D fan model, this relationship between the pressure jump and flow rate is what characterizes your fan. This is how you get a "fan-behaviour" from a disc geometry. So the pressure jump is absolutely required here.
If you have the fan geometry, you can model this using an Moving Reference Frame region, where the only input you will need it the angular velocity.
