SubscriberI have designed an inductor/ferrite bead with cobalt core and studied its impedance at high frequencies in ANSYS Maxwell. So at high frequencies the total magnitude impedence would drop due to the parasitic capacitance but in my modell the Z value just keep on increasing. Are there any geometry issues or do I need to use other model in ANSYS electronics. Why I am not getting the drop in impedence at higher frequencies ?

Ansys EmployeeHello mh.pial5,
Maxwell would not calculate RLC in a single simulation, we have to use Twin builder/Simplorer simulation with Maxwell dynamic ROM of both electrostatic and eddy current solutions to evalute the impedence. Please review the page 44 in this following document of ALH. The link is https://jam8.sapjam.com/groups/YMfG652JOg4GxLo7hBmrag/documents/Fjw5xaMGex048qTO83fCh9/slide_viewer
Q3D and HFSS could simulate RLC at the same time. Thanks.

SubscriberThanks a Lot. But I dont have access to ALH. Is there anyway to get access to it with my university ANSYS account or free student trial version

Ansys EmployeeHello mh.pial5,
You have to ask the Ansys account manager or IT support in the university, and see if they could help you access the ALH.
There is an example in C:\Program Files\AnsysEM\v222\Win64\Examples\Twin Builder\Components\Interfaces\Maxwell\Dynamic Inductance and Capacitance\
We could change magnestatic solution to eddy current solution, to calculate RL matrix and replace L matrix.
