Importing User Parameters from Inventor to Workbench

      Hello everyone,

i want to insert userparameters from my invetor assembly (.iam) into my workbench project and want to use them for import paramters for my desingpoint-research afterwards. Is there a way of doining so? Im currently using Inventor 2020 and Ansys Workbench 20221 R1. Sadly on the server where workbench is installed there is no inventor installed, i hope this doesn't complicate the process.

      Kind regards
      Milan

You will need plugin mode of CAD configuration.

Please go through help manual for more details

        Hello Mr. Kanade,

thank you for your answer, so if i read the manual correctly, it is only possible to integrate the user parameters from inventor in plugin and pseudo-reader mode, which both requier Inventor to be installed on the same system. This is sadly not the case on my server, so i can't make the design-point-research via inventor parameters.

        Kind regards

        Milan

P.S. Sorry for my late answer

      Hello,

now i have inventor 2020.0.1. installed on the same system as Ansys Workbench 2021 R1 and have already enabled plugin mode via the Product & CAD Configuration Manager. In Inventor i know have a new toolbar (see “inventor1.png”) and im able to import “named selections” into Mechanical. But sadly my “user parameters” (see “inventor2.png”) still dont get automatically recognized as “import parameteres” for my designpoint research in Workbench, even though they have the right suffix “DS” (see “workbench1.png”).

If somebody knows where my mistake is, please let me know.

      Kind regards

      Milan

P.S. The System Im using is running on Windows Server 2012 R2, so if thats also a problem please let me know.
