Hello,
I have a question about the Ansys Academic Research CFD Lease (25 Tasks). How many cores per task (or cores in total) can be used to run simulations for this lease only?
If I were to add the Ansys Academic Research HPC Workgroup 128 Lease, I would get 128 cores; however, does this get added to the cores that come with the Ansys Academic Research CFD Lease (25 Tasks)?
For example, the Ansys Academic Research CFD Lease (25 Tasks) comes with 16 cores per task and I get the Ansys Academic Research HPC Workgroup 128 Lease. The 16 cores per task will not be added in the 128 Lease.
Thank you for the help!

Hi, the Ansys Academic CFD Research license alone gives you access to run simulation on up to 4 cores. This is the capability of the base license itself. If you want to utilize more than 4 cores, you will need HPC licenses. HPC Workgroup 128 will effectively give you access to utilizing 128 cores on top of the 4 base cores. This means you can run a simulation on 132 cores at a time if you fully utilize your HPC workgroup + the CFD research base license.

Hello VJ,
Thank you for your response. Is it 4 cores per task or 4 cores total?

Also, VJ, is there a way that I may check more information for my license. Unfortunately, I do not have the documentation at the moment, but is there a way I may check from my online account or through my university's computer cluster system?
I was not sure if my group had 4 or 16 cores per task. Because we were able to run much more cores per task, so it should not be 4 cores per task from our end.

It is 4 cores per task. If you were able to run it with 16 cores, you were probably using HPC licenses.. If you are not able to run it with higher cores now, the HPC licenses could have expired. You can check with your license server admin.
Refer to included cores in this doc - https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v232/en/licensing/HPC_detail.html?q=base%20cores
