SubscriberHello,
I am currently using transient thermal in ansys workbench for my simulations. I want to set the conditions and parameters on my laptop and then put the simulation on the university HPC. Following the online tutorials I need to save the model and the set conditions in a .db file. Then put this .db file into the HPC and calculate it.
However, after I have selected save MAPDL bd as shown below I cannot find the .db file in my save folder. Does anyone know why? Or i need a new way to submit my job into the HPC?

SubscriberIf the HPC and your Laptop are properly configured using Remote Solve Manager, there is no need for you to do anything except choose the HPC computer as a Remote Solve computer.
You need to ask the University IT department if they have configured ANSYS to use Remote Solve Manager. If they have, then you need to start the RSM Configuration program on your laptop and create an HPC Configuration for your Solve Process settings.
See the ANSYS Help on RSM Configuration.

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, they have not configured ANSYS to use Remote Solve Manager.

You should request that they install RSM. Maybe they don't understand how much easier it makes using the HPC for Ansys clients on laptops.
