I want to make unpolarized incident light, so combine TE and TM for 50% each. To implement this, I want to simulate TE mode first, and simulate TM mode. Combine 2 of them for 50% ratio to visualize the electromagnetic field. How should I do it?

Dear Subscriber,
1.Run the simulation. You can access all the results from the monitor in the Result View window. Choose the data you are interested in, right-click and select Send to Script. This will add the data to the Script Workspace. Rename the data as needed. Alternatively, you can use script commands to achieve the same result.
2. Change the source settings, then run the simulation again and repeat all steps.
3. Process the data as required and assign the result to a new variable.
4. To plot the result, choose the right data object in the Script Workspace, right-click and select Visualize.Alternatively, you can set up two sources, define the polarizations, and achieve the same result with just one simulation. No extra data processing will be required.
I’d recommend reviewing the following page: Introduction to Lumerical datasets, and the following training course: Ansys Lumerical Scripting.
Best regards,
Kirill
