SubscriberHi everyone,nI would like to view the instantaneous velocity for my transient simulation. How do I view it.nI only seem to be having the mean velocity contours available for post-processing.nCould you please guide me to some resources. Thank you.n -

SubscriberIf you are using Fluent, define your velocity contours in Results-> Graphics-> Contours. Then go to Calculation Activities -> Solution Animations and define new animations. In there, you can specify the frequency with which you store your contours. The velocity results will be instantaneous velocities for each specified time step. Also, you may save the results by going to Calculation Activities -> Autosave (Every Time Steps) and save the desired quantities in desired time steps.n -

Ansys Employeeyou definitely need to tell more about your problem and carry out some tutorials. Or what do you mean with instantaneous velocities and mean velocities? has already provided the answer to plot contour of a variable.n -

SubscriberThank you for the tip. I have already defined velocity contours in Results and define Solution Animation in Calculation and also saved the data (animation seems to show in .cxa and data file in .dat.gz format). What I am unable to do it view the vortices (velocity magnitude) at different times. I can see the results in CFD Post and it has vortice formation but I am unable to see Velocity magnitude contour at different time or even time-step in CFD post.n -

Forum ModeratorVelocity should be transferred with the data file, and it's available for instantaneous values always and time averaged only if you turn that on. When you create a contour what options for colour by can you see?n
