How perform analysis on a custom material?

    • Ayyub B

I am trying to run a modal analysis of a material with different stiffness and Mass matrices in Ansys.
I have already programmed an algorithm in Python that gives me the desired stiffness and mass matrices. I did compute the natural frequencies using the PyAnsys Math module.

Unfortunately, I could not find a way to run it using Ansys Workbench.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could offer some guidance or advice on how to move forward.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

      Hi Ayyub,
As per the information you've provided, I am interpreting it correctly, You came up with a mathematical model for the problem and solved it using the PyAnsys Math module you get the eigenvalues or the frequencies for the modal analysis?
And you want to perform a Modal analysis in Ansys Workbench for the custom material/ conditions you've used in the PyMath case?
So the "Modal Analysis" analysis system in the workbench can be helpful in addressing the concern. For that, you need geometry, material properties, and boundary conditions.
Please find the following video which demonstrates the Modal Analysis using Ansys Workbench.

      Hi Sahil
Thank you for replying, can I ask you if there is a way in which I can implement custom stiffness and mass matrices into geometry and run the analysis?
