SubscriberHi all,
I'm reaching out to inquire about running the electrophysiology bidomain heart model that is offered on the ANSYS/LS-DYNA tutorials page "Tutorial Electrophysiology - Welcome to LS-DYNA examples".
Right now I'm trying to run the keyword files provided for case 10 from this tutorial. I'm having an issue that seems to be a solver problem (I'm not 100% sure though). In the file, it states that I require "LS-DYNA MPP DEV-96951". Therefore, I’m unable to get it to work with any version of MPP double precision, I’ve tried all versions from R11, R12, R13 and R14. I was kindly wondering if you would be able to let me know what version of LS-DYNA that will allow me to run your model? Do I really need a developer version to run a tutorial model? It would be really nice to be able to test this model out, and thank you in advance for your help.
Thank you, Grant.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
You can use the prescribed development version or a higher one if the prescribed dev version is not available. I checked it with DEV-115080-g88d11f119d and it is working fine with it.
So, please download the latest LS-DYNA dev version and try it.
Regards,
Raman Babu

SubscriberHello Raman, thanks very much for your reply.
I would love to test to see if I can get it to run with the DEV solvers you mentioned, however, I don't have access to DEV solvers. Would you be able to advise me on how I can get access to these DEV versions (e.g., DEV-115080-g88d11f119d as you mentioned or LS-DYNA MPP DEV-96951)? Additionally, do I need special licensing to use these? Right now I'm using it for academic purposes.
Thank you, Grant.

Ansys EmployeeHello Grant,
Have you tried with the latest R15.0.2 solver? You can download it here:
LS-DYNA (user=user) Download Page
Username: user
Password: computer
Also, note that R16 should be released soon.
We don't provide a link to the latest DEV solver on the Ansys forum. You can contact your Ansys account manager to know about other ways you can get technical support.
If you are a commercial customer, please create a support case on ACSS and we will send you the latest DEV solver:

SubscriberHello Reno,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried R15.0.2 yes, and just to double check I tried it again just now and am getting the same error message. It appears that LS-DYNA states I don't have licensing for this solver version R15. We are under academic licensing (school research purposes), do you think this is the reason? Am I only able to use this solver version if I am under commerical licensing?
Please find attached the screenshot I've included which may further help us troubleshoot this problem.
Thank you, Grant.

Hello Grant,
No, it does not matter if you have an academic license. It seems that your site is using the LSTC license to run LS-DYNA and the “REVISION 15″ option is missing in the license file. You will need a new license file with the REVISION 15 option in it to run R15. You can contact your Ansys account manager to get a new license file. Check with your license administrator at your site to update the license file.
The error message is:
Â
You need the following line in the server_data (license file) file in the LSTC License Manager installation directory on the license server:
OPTION: REVISION 15
