Exporting to File the Fair Field results from Broadband Frequency Sweep

      Hello,

I am writing to ask if there is a practical way in HFSS / HFSS-IE to save to a file (txt, csv, etc.) the antenna far field results (for instance, the total gain) from a broadband frequency sweep analysis, which produces results at hundreds of frequencies.

For instance, if the simulation is done from 100 to 300 MHz, at discrete frequencies every 1 MHz, I want the output file to contain the total gain at every frequency, theta, and phi:

      freq,    phi,    theta,   gain

      100 MHz,   -180, 30,  5.1

      100 MHz,   -180, 31, 5.2

      ....

      101 MHz,   -180, 30, 4.3

      ...

      200 MHz,   180, 180, 3.0

I know how to export results to a file from plots. But doing this would be very impractical if I had to save results for hundreds of frequencies.

      Thank you in advance!

      Raul

      Hi Raul,

You can do this with scripting - Go to 'Tools -> Record Script to File' - Now every action you do in HFSS will be recorded to a script file. - When you're done, go back to this menu and select 'Stop Recording' - Use this information to create your own custom script to automatically export all of your far field data...

Thank you very much Peter. I was able to make this work at least for simple tasks. I will continue trying until I automate the process in the way that is most efficient for my application.

      Thank you very much

      Raul
