HI I am trying to make a geometry of a double stator single rotor geometry of an axial flux machine. Whenever i used the double stator option i get the following structure, i want the rotor to be in the middle but its giving me side by side stators, can someone pleaser help what I am missing or what I am doing wrong ?

      kind regards

      Hi Sana,

You need to use a double-sided rotor for your requirement, not a double-sided stator.
When you create a Maxwell model with that. Maxwell assumes the symmetry on the other side and assigns a symmetric multiplier of 2.

So, the Maxwell model is created with only one rotor and stator.

If you want to simulate the whole structure you can manually mirror the other stator and set it up manually.
Don't forget to put the symmetry multiplier to 1 in that case.

      Regards,

      Navya

      Dear Navya

Thank you very much, I was able to make a souble stator model based on your suugestions. However, I am getting an error shown in the figure below. Also attached is the pic of the model . Do you have any experience in Axial flux machine, i can send you the model if you think you can solve the issue, i will be very thankful.

      Kind regards

      Hi Sana,

As an Ansys employee, I can not access or accept any models from an open forum.

This error may cause due to not setting the band properly. Make sure all the moving objects are contained within the band with a solid object.

      Regards,

      Navya

      Dear Navya

I went through the model and i defined each band seperately for each part. However, I am still getting the same error.

Attached is the pic of the bands and their regions i.e. the two stators and one rotor in the middle bands.

      Kind Regards

      Sana

Why are you assigning band for everything?
The band needs to be assigned only to the moving objects(rotor).

      Dear Navya

I assigned band (motion band) to a single object , however, i defined other bands to increase the mesh size in those regions.

      kind Regards

      Sana
