SubscriberGood evening team. I have a pmsm 8 poles and 48 slots that I designed via rmxport. I simulated it via maxwell and it automatically set my initial position of motion to 7.5 degrees(because of 360/48). I got the following results..But if I change the initial motion position to 0 degrees instead of 7.5 degrees I get the following results. Is this the maximum power the motor can deliver or what? -

Ansys EmployeeHello Andrew,
To set initial angle, it is always for making an alignment between north pole (or south pole) of rotor and phase A. It is related to vector control of PM motor, please search references and papers. Thanks.
RMxprt will set this aligned angle automatically based on rotor pole and stator phase.
