SubscriberHello,
I have take half part of a single ball in Deep Groove ball bearing to do FSI.
I have attached the SS below showcasing all the Boundary Condistions Ansys Transient Structural.
Usually, The inner race rotates alongwith the shaft and so the ball and cage rotates (with lesser RPM) and the outer race is Fixed at the top by the housing. Also, a force is applied on the bottom side of the inner race by the shaft.Â
I have applied symmetry conditions.
But still i am getting an error related to rigid body motion. Can Someone help me out here with the precise B.C.?
TIA!!

Ansys EmployeeHow is the ring around the ball bearing supported? Â

SubscriberActually it is a simplified form of cage...so between ball and cage....also there is a lubricant...mechanically there is no support to cage

Ansys EmployeePerhaps not, but that could be the issue. You could put a soft elastic support on the bottom surface of the ring to prevent rigid body motion.
