Attempting to simulating a coaxial fed antenna using lumped ports…

I am sweeping frequency from 10k to 20MHz and cannot get simulation to run. Is there a simple video in the trianing forum you can recommend for trying to excite a coaxial fed loop antenna using lumped ports for the center conductor and shield? See errors below, and thank you for your help.

      Hi Robb,

Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum. Your patience is much appreciated.

It looks like the port assignment is not proper, so you are getting some related errors. Please see if the coax feed is connected properly to the antenna or you can share screenshots to help us serve you better.

      Best regards,
      Praneeth,

Praneeth, do you have an email I can forward the file to? Hopefully you can have a look and see what mistake I made setting up the ports, I cannot seem to figure out what is giving the issue.

      Very Respectfully,

      Robb

      Hi Robb,

Please note that Ansys personnel cannot share email addresses and cannot access the attachments on the forum because of export restrictions.

You can use Antenna toolkit available under "ACT extensions" which can create standard antennas for your reference. Please go through some free video based Ansys Innovation Courses on how to use this toolkit - Microstrip Patch Antenna Creation Using Ansys HFSS Antenna Toolkit — Lesson 3 | ANSYS Innovation Courses.

In addition, there are example projects available through "Open Examples > HFSS > Antennas".

      Best regards,
      Praneeth.
