The instance of Mechanical crashing with an AnsysWBU.exe error can be caused by many things.
Some common troubleshooting steps that may work for you are:
1. The use of special characters should be avoided. For example, dashes "-" can be used, but degrees "°" and local language characters like "à" are often creating issues.
Check whether special characters are used in the path to the folder where the project is saved, the name of the project, the installation path of Mechanical, the names of the materials, and in all tree entities that can be renamed.
2. Check the file path's length.
Take care for the length, as the full path should be shorter than 248 characters.3. Reboot your machine.
If you haven't done so in a while, try rebooting your machine.4. Check for overlapping processes.
If you are running the analysis on your local machine and are facing execution issues, make sure that the folder is not frequently updated by some other process. For example, there have been instances of automatic cloud services interfering with the analysis.5. Reset Ansys settings by clearing the AppData folder.
6. Update GPU drivers
Make sure that you have the latest graphics cards drivers. If that's not the case, update to the most recent ones.7. Ensure that your machine has enough memory to solve the analysis.
Hope some of the above help.
