Ansys EmployeeCan you launch the software ?
ANSYS licensing (not including Electronics tools) uses different port to communicate with license server than the license status that you are checking.
For licensing it's port 2325. For license status and Electronics licensing, there are 2 ports: 1055 and another one is dynamic port (i.e., not fixed)
You can use telnet to quickly check if you can connect to the server via certain port
Open CMD Prompt, then enter
telnet moreflex.win.ad.jhu.edu 2325
telnet moreflex.win.ad.jhu.edu 1055
If it can connect, you will see a blank page. If not, you will see an error message.

SubscriberHi, thanks for the swift response. I am able to launch the software. When I run the telnet command for the ports, I am seeing a blank page. License status is still displaying the same message.

Ansys Employeeok, so ports 2325 and 1055 are open but the other port used by ansyslmd.exe that is dynamic one is not open.
There could be a firewall on the network if you already add firewall exceptions on the license server machine to this ansyslmd.exe process but doesn't help.
In this case, you will have to fix the port that ansyslmd.exe runs on. You can do this on the license server machine by going to this (default location)
(Windows) C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensinglicense_filesÂ
(Linux) ../ansys_inc/shared_files/licensing/license_files
, and modify the VENDOR line in every .lic files
so that it looks like this
VENDOR ansyslmd PORT=1056
(of course, you can use other port aside from 1056 as well)
Please make sure that you restart the ANSYS License Manager after you edit this.

SubscriberHi, I added firewall exception to ansyslmd.exe as suggested during installation. I am running the software via university server. I don't have access to the license server machine. My license_files folder doesn't have any .lic files. Should I request my university IT admin to make this change or is there an other way to do this? I am including images of my 'Licensing' and 'license_files' folders
I tried to run the software by switching off my windows firewall but that didn't help. I would prefer not to do this if there is an alternative. Thank you.

Ansys EmployeeAll of these must be done on the license server machine. Please ask your IT to assist. There is no way around it, it's blocked on the server side.
