Dear all,
I have been encountering this error while starting Ansys Workbrnch 23.1. This message appears:
Connection timed out while reading data.
The application has stopped waiting for a reply.
The license server may be experiencing a high demand or a temporary outage. Try again later.This is not happening when opening products individually like Fluent, Spaceclaim, ICEM CFD, etc. A bit information about our licenscing:
- We have an academic licensce
- We need to use VPN on personal computers to reach to the server. We use Globalprotect VPN for this.

Hi Karri,
I did what was suggested by the Ansys employee to others as below. However, the workbench is just showing the starting window and nothing appears even after 10 minutes. Can you confirm that this works when the license is on a server? Who must add these syntax, the client or the administrator on server machine?
Please try adding these entries to your C:\Program Files\Ansys Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\ansyslmd.ini file.

ANSYSLI_TIMEOUT_FLEXLM=20
ANSYSLI_FLEXLM_TIMEOUT_ENV=20000000
