So I read the post in this forum /forum/forums/topic/analysis-systems-missing-from-toolbox-in-workbench-2023-r2/ and I am in the same exact position as this user. I am using my PC as the server and have all my entitlements active on my PC, and i have the license file on my PC. When I run Ansys License Settings 2023 R2, and i type in my server under FlexNet Publisher->License Servers, it says that my server is ok. When i hit the save button above where you type in your license server, this is what it shows for me:

Does anyone have any idea why I can't save it? I'm assuming that this will fix my Workbench not showing the Analysis Systems dropdown like it did for the forum post that i linked above.

Hi Sean,

Can you try using localhost instead of DESKTOP-LVCPIQD, click on TEST, and save it? Relaunch the workbench.

Hi Sean, 

Please note you have to open Ansys licensing Settings as admin to save the changes.

If you don’t have admin access on your client machine, follow the below steps to correct server’s name:

• Open file explorer and go to path “C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing”.
• Open the file named ansyslmd.ini.
• Add the correct license server name and save the file on the desktop.
• From Desktop replace that file with the given path “C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing”
• Close all the applications and relaunch them.

 

please note that if ansys applications and license server are on the same machine, we can mention localhost / 127.0.0.1 instead of the server name.

This issue may be related to the missing Analysis Systems dropdown in Workbench. Have you received any error messages when trying to save the drive mad 2 license server settings?
