Subscriber: The allowed maximum number of layers is exceeded.Â
I've had this problem. I've used composite materials (pre-pregs) on the wheels now, and I've used about 14PLY overall. Now and nowÂ
Is there no other way to reduce the number of PLYs to solve the problem that appears together? If you look up other internet or materials, you can reduce the number of PLYs to the limit
I understand that this is a problem like this. Could this be a problem with the software that ANSYS received for students?

Ansys EmployeeHi,
Currently Layered Thermal Shells support only a limited number of layers and therefor the solver error is thrown. Perhaps you can merge identical plies (with same material and fiber orientation) into one. An alternative route could be to compute an equivalent material for a stack of plies.Â
However I'd rather recommend to run a cure simulation with solids elements since the through thickness effects are then captured accurately. With solid models you do not face this kind of layer number limitation. Â
Regards
Thomas
