Alternative to Balloon Boundary Condition in Maxwell 3D?

      Hello,

In Maxwell 2D, there is a boundary condition to set the outside area as infinitely large. Is there a similiar boundary in 3D?

      Best,

In 3D the default boundary condition on the surface of the region requires no separate assigment by the user and it forces the H field tangential to the surface at the region ends.
Here the requirement is that the region is placed far enough from the magnetic components, as flux tangential will contain all the magnetic energy within the simulation and it will satisfy amperes law on a global level in most circumstances
In 3Dsimulation, Using a very large boundary than required consumes more computer resources and time. So, we just need to use what is sufficient enough.
Also, the default 3D boundary condition behaves similar to the (zero) vector potential boundary in 2D

Hello @Navya Thank you for your reply! I see your point for in my case its a little complicated (see images)
My boundary region overlaps directly with my excitation terminals and as far as I understodd, they MUST overlap with the box. So isnt it impossible to put the outer box parts away from magnetic components?
I have tried doing that but in that case I extended my terminals to match the box dimensions. This would defeat the purpose though, since now the outer regions are close to magnetic components again...
