Adding ports to a layout component file

      Hello,

I am having troubles to add ports to a Layout Component File in HFSS.

The procedure I am using is:

      1. in HFSS 3D Layout, I select my board file, then Export as Layout Component.
      2. In HFSS Design, I created the Layout Component, using Create Layout Component and selected my exported file of step 1.
      3. Once in HFSS I tried to add ports, but Cannot select any of the features pads, traces etc.

is this an incorrect procedure? what should be the best I should use? Should I add the ports from HFSS 3D layout side.

if so what will be the appropiate port type for components like resistors, capacitors, inductors. In my simulation I want to have flexibility to change those kind of component values in schematic and not needing to run HFSS solution every time I change a value.

      Thanks!

      Juan
