ACR’s values are different when sweeping the frequency and simulating separately

      Hello,

I am using Q3D to simulate a planar spiral coil. When 5MHz is simulated separately, the ACR is about 6.05ohm, and when sweeping the frequency from 1MHz to 6MHz (Step=1MHz), the ACR is about 2.61ohm at 5MHz. I am confused why the values are different.

Moreover, when sweeping the frequency, the software prompt 'Sweeps in lossless problems will have constant curve.'

      Thanks in advance!

Are you using a 'Discrete' or 'Interpolating' Sweep? - In either case you should also make sure your single target solution frequency in the solution setup is set to the highest frequency in your sweep or use the new broadband solution setup feature.

      Hi Peter

Thanks for your reply. I used both the sweep method, and I got the same result.  I attached the screenshots to here.

Moreover, I changed the relative pemeability of copper from 0.999991 to 1, and then I changed it back to the original value(0.999991).  What's interesting is that in the same model the value of ACR has changed from 4.004ohm to 3.12ohm, and then no matter how many times I simulated, the value of ACR stays 3.12ohm.  Do you have any suggestions? Thanks again.

What is your convergence criteria? Were there any warnings about your solutions not being converged?

Yes, the software prompt 'Sweeps in lossless problems will have constant curve.'  The convergence criteria used is the system default.

is it somehow related to the minimum convergence passes?

      hi peter,

what does "Sweeps in lossless problems will have constant curve" mean?

I am facing with similar problem. Could you see how it is happened based on the convergence result?
