about “Smooth” function at general tap in field calculator

  Could you explain the "Smooth" function in field calculator mathematically?
  Help pdf in ANSYS only notice me about just "smoothing" the field it calculated not the mathematical one.

  Smooth function in the field calculator does statistical average. It will give the weighted average.

  Thanks for replying me The weighted average seems like the normalized gaussian function, is it right?
  or is it the mean of a position (x0,y0,z0) of iterated adaptve mesh operations?
