Hi,
There is something wrong with my radiation model. I'm trying to simulate the solar irradiation from the ambient environment to the indoor environment through a glass window. And I'm using DO and solar irradiation models for this case. The version of Ansys is 2023R2 student. As the figure shows below, the solar ray comes from the left surface. The boundary condition of that surface is pressure-inlet with a transparent setting. For the BC of all the other surfaces in that fluid region is a pressure outlet with an Opaque setting. The horizontal length of the left region is 5 m, but the 1000w/m2 irradiation attenuated within 5 meters. Could anyone help me out?

Hi,
Ensure that you have assigned the correct material properties to the glass window and other surfaces that interact with radiation. This includes specifying the refractive index, absorption coefficient, and other relevant properties.Ensure that you have specified the model settings accurately.
You can check user's guide for more details: 5.3.10. Choosing a Radiation Model (ansys.com)
Thank you.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. For the material properties of the left domain, the absorption and scattering coefficient is 0, and the refractive index is 1. Is this the correct setting for the air?
The strange thing is the attenuation disappears when I set the boundary condition of the front and back surfaces to symmetry(the previous figure is the front view). However, I want to set these two surfaces as pressure outlets instead of symmetry. Is there any other possible reason that led to this error?
Thanks
