When I try installing Fluent 2025 R2 once I get to the Licensing Setting, the window that opens is blank:

Also, I neither get a desktop icon nor does the program show up in the list of programs when I open the menu on the left side (the one with the Mint symbol).

What's causing that, and how do I fix it?

linuxmint is not listed as a supported linux distribution listed here

When installing on a supported distribution, the required libraries need to be installed

While LinuxMint isn’t listed directly, it’s just a version of Ubuntu24.04 noble and Ubuntu24.04 LTS is in the list. There’s no difference between Ubuntu24.04 and Ubuntu24.04 LTS apart from security updates so it should work.

I made sure that all packages for every program are installed, but I still get the same error. When I try opening the Licensing Settings without root permission, the program opens regularly but when I try to save the licensing server I get the error : Could not set flexNet servers

Trying to enable web licensing > Products gives the error: Insufficient permissions on file ‘/usr/ansys_inc/shared_files/licensing/ansyslmd.ini’. Please relaunch the utility in Administrator mode.

Using the diagnostics tool generates this file: /home/mario/AnsysDiagnostics_20251204192341.tgz 

When I try to run the program with root permissions, I first get this error: [1204/191418.753539:FATAL:electron_main_delegate.cc(295)] Running as root without –no-sandbox is not supported. See https://crbug.com/638180.

Running it as root with –no-sandbox gives the following error:

1. try manually specifying license server : see https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/public/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v2523/en/licensing/cls_ansyslmd_file.html
2.  OR try specifying it through environment variables : see https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/public/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v2523/en/licensing/alicothrsettingstlm62000.html

then launch the application

Sadly, that didn't work. For some reason, I now get that error in the license settings despite it previously giving a green checkmark for the test, see screenshot:
