SubscriberHi
I am selecting mean velocity magnitude in additional quantities and then running fluent on HPC and it is generating .dat file, but when i am opening it in CFDPost, it is not showing the variable, but it is showing if i open the dat file in fluent. Why CFDPost is not saving the sampled mean velocity magnitude values? is there any issue? thanks

Forum Moderator.cdat is a reduced dataset to save on storage, you'll need to add the averaged data to the file.Â

SubscriberI dont know how to add the averaged data to the file. Its running on HPC and generating .dat files which does not show mean velocity mag upon opening in CFDPost.

Forum ModeratorOpen case & data locally, and then write solution data. I think there's an option to add data fields to the .cdat  Note, in 25R1 there are new tools to do transient post processing in Fluent using the .dat files: I've not tried it yet.Â
