Hello ANSYS Community,
I am currently working on an explicit dynamics simulation of an impact test using ANSYS Mechanical (2024 R2). In my setup, I aim to model an impactor striking a slab with fixed support. However, I am encountering an issue where the impactor simply slides through or passes the slab without any noticeable interaction or deformation on the slab.

Hey,
Why does the model have 2 body interactions ?
In general it should have 1 body interaction set to all bodies by default, since you have 2 simple bodies. If you have made any changes to that - i would suggest you remove one body interaction and for the remaining one scope both the bodies to it.Â
Here is more help on this 3.2. Body Interactions in Explicit Dynamics Analyses
Let me know if this solves the problem.Regards,
Mohan Urs
