ANSYS 2024 R2, Windows 11.
I am using two university license servers. I have set the two license servers and ports in the License setting applications, both servers test with a green tick and have been saved.
I open Workbench and it has full functionality and seems to be licensed and working.
However, when I then open an existing Mechanical model through Workbench, it opens in Read-Only configuration and I get the below message:
If I close all applications and open just the mechanical application and start a new (blank) project, then it also opens in Read-Only and I get the same error.
University IT support informs me that the license should grant me access to all features of Ansys, so should not be a limitation of the license and there doesn't seem to be any errors with the license and its configuration.
I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling all applications and restarting a number of times, with no luck.

Under the %TEMP%\.ansys directory, you should find licdebug files.
These files contain license debug information for your WB/mechanical sessions.
You can view these files with a notepad/text editor app.
Do these show any errors?

Hi George,Â
Thank you for your suggestion. I managed to open the files in MS Word and there doesn't seem to be any errors given.
Essentially, the log states:
Starting licensing client, started ANSYSLI server, Client_Connect, Connected to Licensing Client and then Client Exit (assume when the program is closed)
