Hello,
It appears that the DATABASE_FORMAT IFORM=2 option (allowing for storage of LS-Dyna analysis results in Ansys database format) has been disabled in the executables I currently have access to.Â
Is the Ansys database format output functionality possible in LS-Dyna SMP double precision R15?
Are there specific executables which have this functionality? If so, where could such an executable be found for LS-Dyna R15 SMP double precision? Thanks!

Hello Nikki,Â
Ansys database is mostly disabled in newer solvers. Ansys WB/Mechanical have quite good capabilities reading ls-dyna output files. Another option is to use LS-PrePost for post-processing the results.Â
If you are an Ansys customer, please submit a new ticket at Ansys Customer Support Space (ACSS) at customer.ansys.com.Â
Thank you,
AlexÂ

Thank you for reaching out. The DATABASE_FORMAT IFORM=2 option (which enables storing LS-Dyna analysis results in the Ansys database format) might indeed not be available in the specific LS-Dyna SMP double precision R15 executable you have access to.
To answer your question, Ansys database format output functionality is supported, but it may require specific versions or executables that include this feature. You might need to confirm whether the executable you are using was compiled with the necessary flags for Ansys format support.
I would recommend checking with your software provider or LS-Dyna support team to obtain the appropriate SMP double precision R15 version that includes this functionality. Alternatively, you could explore other executables or versions that explicitly list support for the IFORM=2 option.
