How to export solution data every n timestep of a transient fluent simulation

How to export solution data every n timestep of a transient fluent simulation that has completed its calculation into ASCII file?

I know that in the GUI you can go file>export solution data and pick what solution to export there. However, you have to load which time step you want first. Additionally, I know that you can set a transient export every n timestep. However, this has to be set-up before the calculation. In my case, the calculation have already been completed. I don't really want to re-run my calculation.

I have looked into TUI option and managed to only found this https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/fluent/230855-fluent-export-ascii-option-journal-file.html. But I'm not really sure what should be the command?

Basically I want to export a solution variable named scalar-1 (a uds) and velocity magnitutde at the outlet locations every 20 timestep into an ascii file.

Do you have a .dat file for every timestep that you want to export? If not, the data is gone and you will have to re-run it. CFD-Solvers only save at the specified timesteps. If not our hard drives would be full very quickly.

If you have all the .dat files then you could export then. Start by recording a journal file (File->Write->Start Journal...) then do the necessary steps to output the desired variables into ASCII format. You can use the GUI or type out the TUI commands. After doing it once, stop the journal recording (File->Write->Stop Journal). You can then edit this .jou file (just use any text editor) and set it up to export the timesteps that you want.
