Dear all,
I'm trying to simulate a simplified packed bed system in a thermal storage. To do so i considered two layers of spheres and, due to the high number of elements, i only considered one portion of the tank and i delete the sphere on the edge of the slice (even if it causes some holes but i didn't have any better idea). The problem is that when i try to mesh this message appeares: The mesh file exporter could not resolve cyclic dependencies in overlapping contact regions. Please try to Repair Overlapping Contact Regions.
What i'm doing wrong? I have two parts that are the spheres and the slice of cilynder without the spheres.
Kind regards
Â

It looks like you have not subtracted the spheres from the fluid domain. Also it should not matter if there are partial spheres cut out in your domain. Is there a symmetry in the theta direction that would allow you to pick a good "pie slice" ?

Depending on the surface proximity you may have some "contact regions" from the automatic tools. Those can return errors in Fluent as it tries to create a nonconformal interface. If you have contact regions have already done share topology/multibody part delete them and try again.Â
