SubscriberHi there,
I am facing a problem which is I am still unsure about the appropriate mechanical properties for PLA material (shown in Pic). Because the simulation shows the same peak stress value (54.1 MPa) as the specified yield stress of PLA, whatever the displacement is input (0.3mm -0.5mm). Could you please check whether my properties are accurate or not for PLA? or any other solution of that?

Ansys EmployeeHi Farhana,
For the Bilinear Isotropic Hardening model, the entry “tangent modulus” specifies how your material work hardens.
The tangent modulus in your model is significantly small, meaning that the material’s behavior is similar to a perfect plastic material with almost no increase in the stress with plastic deformation. This explains what you observed in the results. Please ensure that this is the expected behavior for your specific material and if not, adjust this parameter accordingly.
