After License Manager Update to 2024 R1, STK Only Accessible Through School VPN

We recently completed an Ansys License Manager update from version 2022 R1 to 2024 R1. The update was successful and the license server is up and running. However, since the update, we can only access Ansys software, such as STK, through the school's VPN (GlobalProtect). Prior to the update, authorized users were able to access STK by specifying the license server and port, without requiring VPN connectivity. We suspect this VPN requirement may also impact other Ansys applications, but have not yet been able to confirm that.

Our goal is to restore access to Ansys software without the need for VPN, as it was before the license manager update. I have attempted to resolve the issue by adding inbound firewall rules for the necessary ports used by Ansys, but this has not resolved the problem.

Could you please provide guidance on how to configure the updated license manager and/or network settings to allow Ansys software access for authorized users without requiring VPN connectivity? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

After an email from a Lead Technical Support Engineer, it looks like we have a solution. Adding the highlighted portion (from the screenshot) to the license file to specify a port for ansyslmd, as well as adding an outbound firewall rule for the same ports, did the trick.
