How to make two meeshed regions behave as a solid body?

I have used ACP to define a composite structure where 2 faces are layed up inwards and meet along one region, however when a load is applied in static structural the two layups act independently. As depicted in the attached image, the lower layup is unaffected when a load is applied to the top layup. Is there a way for Ansys to recognise the area in which these two layups meet, to form a single solid body?

      Hi Daniel,

Have you defined any contact between the parts?

      Thanks,
