Can any body plz guide when we focus light (r,0) instaed of (r,90 deg) then

  focusing spot at 0 degree appears to be somewhat strectched like,Why it is so? Same is the case when we are interested to focus light at (-r,180degree) plz help to understand it .Would it due to comatic aberration if it is so then plz help me to understand it.

  Sorry I am not sure what the device you are simulating. Does the incident source have any angle? is there any wedge element inside the device? do you use any periodic boundaty conditions?
  Please try to use a linear polarized light and check if the result is normal.
