Hello,
Â
I am working on a model in LSDYNA that goes through dynamic relaxation followed by a transient analysis. How can I run the dynamic relaxation once and then used its results to be applied to the transient analysis directly without the need to run both again each time I solve the model.Â
Â
ThanksÂ

Hello,Â
To restart a simulation after DR phase you can submit a small restart using the d3dump written at the conclusion of the DR phase.Â
Please look at this tutorial about restart using LS-DYNA: https://ftp.lstc.com/anonymous/outgoing/jday/restart.pdf

Thanks for providing that valuable source. When I try to restart after the dynamic relaxation, the final output does not have a d3plot file to be opened in lsprepost. Is there a way to generate that?
Â
Thanks

The restart uses the d3dump file. If you want to make changes to the model, e.g. add or remove parts for the transient analysis, you can use full-deck restart

I am using small restart but the restart process does not generate a d3plot file. it provides d3plot01,d3plot02.... but not the d3plot file.Â
Â
ThanksÂ

For small restart the d3plot is from the initial run
