Beam profile dependence

      Hi all.

When I copy the extracted beam profile into a SpaceClaim to make changes to the copy, the original from which I copied also changes. How can I remove this connection?

      Hi Javat,
Yes, It will change the original extract profile. You can edit the profile individually by saving it into the system and opening it in the new tab. If you tell me the purpose of it, then there might be a possibility that I can suggest a better way to do it or any other workaround.

for more information, you can follow the Ansys help documentation of the Creating a Beam profile

I copy the profile and want to make it a little thicker so that I can use both profiles later. But I can’t do this; when the copied profile changes, the second one also changes. I need to disable this profile dependency between each other. So that I have two different profiles and I can edit each one separately.

          Hi Javat,
I haven’t found anything to disable the dependency on the profile. You can only edit the profile and save it to a new file in your system, and then you can use it. There are standard profiles available there, so you can use them if they fulfill your requirements.
