I m doing a stresses analysis in an assembly that is the steps i need to do is below:
1. The assembly will be under loads and temperature and gets deformed.
2. New loads will need to apply under The deformed shape of step 1 without stresses produced in step 1. ( it is assumed that stresses made in step one relaxes over long time)
How can i do this? -

Hi Mo,
Please check the below knowledge material for your query and let me know if it solves your issue.

Thanks for your response. Is there any other way except exporting geometery as stl and import that again? In this case i need to define the whole contacts again and the boundr conditions, name selection, etc.

Also, when i import the new geometry made as .stl I cannot mesh it as below error:
"The mesh generation did not complete due to poor quality elements or incorrect input. Please try meshing with another mesh method or different mesh options. " -

Hi Mo,
Sorry for the delay. The contacts, mesh, and boundary conditions cannot be transferred since the deformed geometry is a new geometry. You will need to recreate them. Regarding your mesh problem, there may be some issues with the STL file. It is preferable to repair the STL file in SpaceClaim and then convert it to a solid.
Thanks,

Hi,
I tried .stl but fixing .stl model is a big project in itself. One thing that I did is I took the solution and entered into a new analysis as below:
However, the beam elements twist when I entered the model from one analysis (Step 1) into another (Step 2):
first step:
2nd step:
the beam elements are connected to a few shell elements. the shell elements come to the 2nd step of the analysis very good but the beam elements twist and rotate.
Any solution?
thanks,
