Fluent writing additional case and data files?

      Hi guys,

I am using a HPC to run my Fluent files and have a question about Fluent’s usage of case and data files. When I export case files to the HPC I use the .h5 format, likewise with the data files I read in from it.

When I exit the ‘Setup’ in the Fluent block the program writes another .cas.gz file (orange), additional to the .cas.h5 (yellow) I exported to the HPC. When I exit the ‘Solution’ in the Fluent block the program writes another .dat.gz file (orange), additional to the .dat.h5 (yellow) file I downloaded from the HPC.

I am just wondering why does Fluent write these additional case and data files?

      Many thanks,

      Kieran

      Hello

Could you please tell if you have ‘Autosave’ setup  in the Activities group of the Solution tab?

      Regards

      Kishan

        Hi Kishan,

No I don't think I have that option setup.

        Please see the below screenshot.

        Thanks,

        Kieran
