We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Cannot import ODB++ Design in Ansys SIwave due to license error

      Hello,

We are trying to use Ansys Siwave 2020 R2, and when doing so we get an error stating that we need siwave_level1 and al4odb++, which are not included in our license package (see screenshot of error).

Prior to upgrading to our most recent license package we were able to use these packages.

The error text is as follows: "Error: Cannot checkout al40db++ (failed to enable feature using current license setting. Note that Pro, Premium, Enterprise licenses are available on your server. To use the licenses check the corresponding UI option. For more information, search for "PPE" in the help documentation. Failover feature 'ALinks ODB ++ integration' specified in license preferences is not available. Request name al4odb++ does not exist in the licensing pool. No such feature exists. Feature: al4odb++ License path: [email protected]." The error is in the same format for siwavelevel1.

Hi Tahaw It appears you have PPE license features.
SIWave, goto: File -> Options -> Product Licensing -> [x] Use Electronics Pro, Premium, Enterprise product licensing.
AEDT, goto: Tools-> Options-> General Options-> Desktop Configuration ->[x] Use Electronics Pro, Premium, Enterprise product licensing.
Restart the ANSYS application after making this change.
Please consider updating to a newer version ANSYS Electronics Desktop.
      thanks
      Randy
