Ansys maxwell winding and coil terminal meaning

      Hi guys,

Recently I am doing simulations of winding loss in a transformer. I am trying to divide each foil turn into 3 parts in vertical direction (1/2 model is used here), which means the 3 parts are parallel connected and a total current of I is flowing inside them. As is shown below, the primary and secondary winding both have 3 foil turns, and each turn consists of 3 parallel parts.

Hi @Francoo The wires that are running parallel for a single conductor in a turn are called strands. it is the number of wires per conductor
Number of parallel branches is the actual parallel paths, if any, in a winding (mostly used for motor windings). this does not represent the conductors running parallel in a single turn as used in your case.
In your case, you can leave it as one.

      .Regards Navya
