Non conformal shell mesh

  Hi,
  Is it possible to create a nonconformal mesh in Ansys with differently sized elements that automatically share boundary nodes with bonded contact?

  Yes it is possible. If you dont create shared topology between the surfaces, it will automatically create non-conformal mesh.

  that would necessitate the creation of manual edge to edge contacts/nodal contact or does Ansys generate a default bonded contact automatically?

  Ansys generates a contacts automatically. Still I would suggest to check them and proceed further.
