 width=This course covers the fundamental principles of combustion thermodynamics and processes. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the calculation of standard heat of combustion, product composition, and standard heat of reaction. For instance, it demonstrates how to calculate the lower and higher heating values of a fuel, such as burning ethanol in a furnace. The course also delves into the complex topic of combustion processes, focusing on the calculation of heat transfer, enthalpy, and air-fuel ratio in different scenarios. It further explains the concept of chemical equilibrium and its application in calculating the composition of products in a reaction. Lastly, the course covers the analysis of combustion products of TK C10 H22, introducing the concept of the water-gas shift reaction and how it can be used to balance the equation.
