Get Started

You will get an overview about the usage of connecting Ansys optiSLang® process integration and design optimization software and Ansys HFSS™ high-frequency electromagnetic simulation software in Ansys Electronic Desktop software (EDT)™ electronics systems design platform.

The SMA Microstrip workshop shows a Sensitivity Analysis, a Single-Objective-Optimization and a Robustness Analysis.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Automatize Ansys HFSS software in EDT in the Ansys optiSLang application (Solver Wizard to connect to EDT).
  • Deriver scalar output Parameters from signals.
  • Use of Sensitivity and Optimization Wizards in Ansys optiSLang software to set up the Algorithms.
  • Understand Information of the Postprocessing for Sensitivity and Optimization.
  • Use Optimization on the MOP and direct Optimization.
  • Make use of the benefits of Concurrent Parametric Design Point Variations provided with the optiSLang Premium and Enterprise Level.
  • Automatize Ansys HFSS software in EDT in the Ansys optiSLang application (Solver Wizard).
  • Use the Robustness Wizard and basic understanding of the Robustness Postprocessing.
  • The appendix shows how to create a MOP from a Signal response (1D Signal MOP).

Prerequisites:

  • Basic knowledge about Ansys optiSLang is recommended and can be obtained by completing the Ansys optiSLang Getting Started course. Besides Ansys optiSLang software, you should be familiar with Ansys HFSS software.

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2025 R1 release.
