Waveforms Beyond 5G Communication

For instance, the course delves into the requirements of 5G, such as low out of band radiation, and the problems with existing systems. It also discusses the different waveforms under consideration for the next generation, including windowed OFDM, filtered OFDM, and filter bank multi carrier. The course further explains the concept of OFDM with offset QAM, the conditions for channel transmission signalling rate, and the role of frequency displacement. It also covers the structures of FBMC and UFMC, and the generalized frequency division multiplexing. Lastly, the course concludes with a comparison of different waveforms such as OFDM, SCFDMA, SCFDE, FBMC, UFMC, and GFDM, discussing their performance, complexities, and potential solutions for improving their efficiency.
