This course has been completely redesigned to deliver a smoother, more accurate learning experience aligned with the latest simulation tools:
- Full workflow in Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT)™ electronics systems design platform: The entire workflow is now performed within Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) using Ansys HFSS™ high-frequency electromagnetic simulation software's 3D Layout with SIwave solver for PCB.
- PCB in HFSS 3D Layout with differential ports: This new approach is more aligned to Power Electronics PCBs with no reference plane.
- Step-by-step workflow: The course now follows a clear, concise workflow from start to the end, making it easier for users to replicate on their own.
- EMI Filter and CMC modeling in Ansys HFSS software: These are now imported as Layout Component and 3D Component, respectively, enabling the use of Mesh Fusion for improved meshing speed, accuracy, and quality.
- SiC MOSFETs from component library: No need to import external SPICE models anymore. Simply drag and drop the MOSFET from the component library.
- Accelerated simulations with S-Parameter Fast Solve: This new function enables significantly faster simulation of the full circuit.
This course will demonstrate workflows for simulating three-phase inverter components using Ansys electromagnetic solvers, integrating them into E-Powertrain circuit schematics, and conducting automotive CISPR 25 validation tests.
Learning Outcomes:
Following Completion of this course you will be able to:
- Simulate and analyze the electromagnetic behavior of three-phase inverter components.
- Extract resistance (R), inductance (L), and capacitance (C) parasitic elements for power modules, busbars, and cables.
- Model and validate EMI filter performance.
- Assemble a complete E-Powertrain circuit and perform CISPR 25 validation tests.
Prerequisites:
- Familiarity with electromagnetic simulation tools available in Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) is recommended. This includes software such as Ansys HFSS, HFSS 3D Layout, Q2D/Q3D Extractor and Circuit, which will be used throughout the training for different components of the system.
Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2025R1 release.
