This workshop will model the evaporation and combustion of a liquid fuel, using the dispersed phase modeling capability to compute coupled gas flow and liquid spray physics. The mixture-fraction/PDF equilibrium chemistry model is used to predict the combustion of the vaporized fuel.
Learning Outcomes:
Following completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Prepare a probability density function(PDF) file for a liquid fuel system.
- Define Fluent inputs for PDF chemistry modelling.
- Define a discrete second phase of evaporating liquid droplets.
- Calculate the flow field using the pressure-based solver, including coupling between the discrete liquid fuel droplets and continuous phase.
Prerequisites:
- Ansys Fluent Beyond the Basics
Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2023R2 release.
