SKU: PL-EL-00062 Categories: , Tag:
This workshop focuses on simulating an microstrip trace with stub connected to a SMA connector using Ansys HFSS™ high-frequency electromagnetic simulation software. You will learn how to insert 3D components, assign boundaries, create lumped ports, define radiation regions, and set up parametric sweeps. It covers analyzing S-parameters for different positions of the stub along the trace. It also covers visualizing surface current distributions to view the electromagnetic field propagation along the traces.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this workshop, you will be able to:
  • Integrate 3D components into HFSS designs.
  • Assign boundaries and ports open transmission line configurations.
  • Configure analysis setups including HPC options and frequency sweeps.
  • Perform parametric studies to evaluate design variations.
  • Interpret S-parameter plots for bandwidth and resonance behaviour.
  • Visualize surface current distributions for better understanding of RF performance.
  • Optimize stub position for desired frequency response.

Prerequisites:

  • Getting Started with HFSS Software course.
Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2025 R1 release.
  • Cost:
    $450.00
  • Course Duration: 1-2 HOURS
  • Skill Level: Beginner
