Linearization Techniques for Nonlinear Distortion

FREE

2-4 HOURS

NPTEL

width= width=This course covers the comprehensive understanding of nonlinear distortions and the linearization techniques used to counteract these effects. For instance, the course delves into the intricacies of power amplifier nonlinearity, such as adjacent channel spectrum leakage and signal distortion, and the need for linearization techniques to combat these unwanted effects. It further explores the application of different models like the Saleh, Rapp, and Ghorbani models, and how they can be implemented in MATLAB or other tools. The course also discusses the concept of pre-distortion techniques in software-defined radios, the elements of feed-forward and feedback techniques, and their incorporation into pre-distortion techniques. Lastly, the course concludes with a practical example of a Doherty power amplifier and the effect of IQ imbalances.

This course has been developed by Dr. Meenakshi Rawat from IIT Roorkee for NPTEL. It is now accessible through Ansys Innovation Space courtesy of the partnership between Ansys and NPTEL, under the CC BY-SA license. For more details, visit https://nptel.ac.in/courses/108107107.
