FE-Based Fluid Flow Model in Fusion Welding Process

FREE

2-4 HOURS

NPTEL

width=This course covers the comprehensive understanding of finite element modeling in heat transfer and fluid flow analysis, particularly in the fusion rolling process. It provides an in-depth understanding of the role of fluid flow in the welding process and the development of an API model. The course also explores the impact of surface active elements on the welding process and the concept of free surface modeling. It further explains the application of finite element methods in fluid flow analysis, the formation of matrices, and the concept of quasi-steady state analysis. An illustrative example is the prediction of temperature distribution and velocity fields in welding processes. The course concludes with the prediction of free surface profiles associated with the welding process, including different methodologies like the level set method, volume of fluid, and phase field.
